I got these to as a gift for a special Scorpio Moon in my life--she loved it! The magnet is strong enough for denim and most shirt fabrics, though it might not be as secure as a push-pin. On the bright side, this lapel pin is impossible to "break"!
This is such a cute pin, but with a metal backing it makes it one I’m worried I’ll lose if I place on any of my wardrobe items or other accessories. I would suggest using a pin backing that is more secure. Otherwise, wonderful color and shine -looked just like the picture.

Our goal for our lapel pins was to allow for easy wear on thinner pieces of clothing that wouldn't leave a hole but I hear your concerns about their security. I suggest placing your pin on a collar or a thinner part of your clothing to see how it does.
